There are approximately 40,000 kilometers of forest roads on Bergvik Skog’s land. These forest roads are open to the public as far as possible.
Bergvik Skog annually invests approximately SEK 80 million on maintenance of existing forest roads and approximately SEK 25 million on new road construction. The road network is mainly built and maintained for accessibility to forest properties for planning, harvesting, forestry and transportation of timber. Public access to the roads can be limited, for example, due to risk of personal injury, ongoing forestry, or thawing, but otherwise the roads are open to the public.
